2026 Annual Youth Scholarship Awards!

Each year the Wadsworth Hunt Club awards academic scholarships to two high school seniors that are related to Club members!
These two $2500 scholarships are made possible by an anonymous club member’s generous donations!
Applications were received by our club’s Scholarship Committee, were anonymized, and reviewed and judged carefully to ensure an impartial, thorough evaluation was performed.
This year’s winning high school seniors were awarded their scholarships at the March, 2026 monthly club membership meeting, where they explained how these scholarships will help fund their future educational plans.

This year’s annual Spring Youth Fishing Derby will be at River Styx Park in Wadsworth, Ohio!
FREE to attend, FREE bait (while supplies last), FREE lunch, and many prizes to be won by kids up to 16 years old.
Hosted by the Wadsworth Hunt Club Volunteers.
No registration required, but get there early to beat the rush!

Hosted by Lake & Trails/ODNR at Leadville Lake in Carrollton, OH, the Wadsworth Hunt Club will sponsor up to 50% of youth fees for 25 kids, on a first come, first served basis.
This has been an annual spring tradition for decades that many current club members attended in their youth, and is a great opportunity for parents and kids to learn all there is to fishing over the 5-year program.
Registration can fill up quickly, so make sure to reach out to the WHC coordinator by April 25, 2026.

Hosted by the Wadsworth Hunt Club, this Free event is open to the public and gives the attending youth a safe introduction for Rifle, Pistol, and Archery shooting in a controlled, safe environment.
It is a great way to have young shooters obtain the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for introductory safe firearm/archery handling.
All firearms and ammo are provided, and we have a free lunch too. We can host up to 24 kids, but this event fills up fast!
WHC volunteers are almost exclusively NRA Certified Instructors and/or NRA Certified Range Safety Officers, or have previously been military and/or law enforcement firearms instructors

Hosted by the Wadsworth Hunt Club, this Free event is open to the public and gives the attending youth an introduction to safe shotgun handling, shooting, and pheasant hunting in a controlled, safe environment.
It is a great way to introduce young shooters/hunters to the exciting world of pheasant hunting, including working directly with the trained hunting dogs that the volunteers bring along for the hunt.
All firearms and ammo are provided, along with of the pheasants for the hunt, Free of charge. The Wadsworth Hunt Club can handle up to 25 youth for this event, but this event fills up fast!
Date and Times are To Be Determined, but often falls at the end of October into early November annually.
